2023 Knitting Goals

Now that I’ve revisited my 2022 knitting goals, it’s time to turn my attention to some new goals.  2023 is sure to be very different from 2022 – or at least, I hope it is!  Mainly because I hope we do some serious traveling!   As far as my knitting goes, I really want  it to be fun.  So if something is no longer fun, I don’t want to feel obligated to knit on it.

My Goals…

  • Knit 2 pairs of birthday socks
  • Knit children’s socks
  • Participate in the Westknits MKAL again
  • Make colorwork mittens
  • Finish my Selbu Mittens
  • Knit with my 2 Advent calendars from 2022
  • Plan and wind yarn for a temperature blanket in 2024

So…..

I plan to knit more socks, of course!  And it’s time I branch out into children’s socks since so many of my friends have kids.  This should be a great way to use leftover yarn!

There’s a pattern for colorwork mitts that I’ve been wanting to knit for a while now and I just need to do it.  I also need to finish my Selbu Mittens.  I think I’ll make these my 30-minutes of morning knitting once I finish an Advent calendar (which I usually knit then).

Kay, the Crazy Sock Lady, announced she’s making a temperature blanket this year and I love her take on it!  I was too late to start one this year so I’m going to work on planning out yarn to make one next year.  This will take a lot of skein winding!  But it’ll be a great way to use up some yarn – because I have plenty to make this blanket and more!

Since I ordered two Advent knitting calendars in 2022, I really need to knit both of them.  I’m not going to hold myself obligated to knit with my LIS swap Advent calendar because those skeins….  Well, I just can’t imagine them all in one project together.

Conclusion

Though I don’t enjoy planning out my projects too much, I like having some goals for the year in general.  I always like having the flexibility of casting on a new project on a whim, if I’m so inclined!!

What are your knitting goals for next year?  I hope you have a lot of fun projects to look forward to!
