Chief Left Hand Knits
I can’t remember how I first ran across this creative independent dyer, Chief Left Hand Knits. It may have been a yarn shop in south Texas, but then I found the website and truly fell in love. Talk about some beautiful colorways!!
This yarn is dyed by Bonnie, who lives in Billings, Montana. She started Chief Left Hand Knits in 2014.

There are a great many bases to choose from, which is fabulous!

Colorways
Bonnie’s colorways are so beautiful. The variegated skeins literally take my breath away. I fell hard for the one pictured (Interlude) and it is just as beautiful in person as on the website.
There are both speckled and solid colorways offered on the website.
Availability
A lot of the Chief Left Hand yarn is dyed on a dyed-to-order basis. As long as you don’t need it quickly, it’s worth the wait. That being said, Bonnie replied to my request quicker than I imagined and was super helpful and fast with the order.
Ease of Shopping
The Chief Left Hand website is a little tricky to get used to. You have to click on the base and then scroll through the colors to find the one you want.
Shipping Costs
Bonnie charges reasonable shipping rates and my package arrived pretty quickly. And, if you buy over $90 worth of yarn, you get free U.S. shipping!
Conclusion
Bonnie is definitely an independent dyer to watch. Her colorways are truly special and I can’t wait to see what else she dyes up.
