Halloween Socks
A few months ago, I participated in a Love in Stitches membership swap. I loved the yarn that I sent to my partner so much that I suggested we knit socks together. And she was game! So I cast on my Halloween socks in September and finished them in two weeks!
The Yarn
When asking my partner what yarn she liked, she responded with “fall colors.” And I immediately knew what I wanted to send her. I’ve had a skein of yarn that I’ve been dying to cast on from EuphoriaKnits. I bought this skein at the last East Texas Yarn Festival and, let me tell you, it exceeded my expectations in every way.
To compliment that yarn, I decided on a skein of orange Candy Skein yarn that I was given in swap. This yarn, too, exceeded my expectations.
For a mini skein, I used some yarn that I’ve loved and loved – and used in three projects now: Cat Sandwich Fibers in Italian Ice. This skein of yarn is still one of my favorites, ever.
The Pattern
I used my vanilla sock pattern from Charlene Schurch for these socks. I casted on 72 stitches on a bigger needle and decreased to 70 after the cuff. Then, after the heel, I decreased to 68 stitches. I think these may be my new, favorite stitch numbers!

These socks were such a joy to knit. Both yarns from EuphoriaKnits and Candy Skein were delectably soft. I immediately wanted to buy more! And the colors in the EuphoriaKnits yarn were incredible! I am so in love with these socks!
Though Halloween isn’t my favorite holiday, I’m so happy to have knit these! And I loved them so much that I cast on another pair with the colors inverted! So be sure to look for those on the blog soon! I can’t recommend these yarns enough!
