Murray Wool Goods
One dyer I’d heard so much about for so long was Murray Wool Goods. When I saw that they were doing an Advent this year, I jumped on it! And it is a gorgeous Advent. But since then, I’ve also bought a few other skeins of their yarn. And, wow! Sarah, the dyer behind Murray Wool Goods, has such a great eye for color.
I can’t wait to tell you more about this dyer from Oregon!
Bases
Sarah has many nice bases to choose from, including…
Wisp Lace (72% Mohair/28% Silk)
Classic Sock (Light Fingering – 75/25)
Sparkle Sock (Fingering – 75% Merino/20% Nylon/5% Stellina)
Castle Moss Tweed (Fingering – 85% Bluefaced Leicester/15% other fibers)
Yak Sock ( Fingering – 70% Merino/20% Yak/10% Nylon)
Hearty Sock (Fingering – 80% Bluefaced Leicester/20% Nylon)
Pure DK (100% Merino)
Availability
There’s usually something available in Sarah’s shop, but when she has an update, the yarns sell out very quickly. Be sure to follow her on Instagram to see just when her updates are taking place to ensure you get what you want!
Ease of Shopping
The Murray Wool Goods website is super easy to use and navigate.
Shipping
When ordering from the website, shipping is very reasonable! With the rising cost of postage in the U.S., it’s nice when something costs less than expected!
Conclusion
I know I’ll be buying more yarn from Murray Wool Goods in the future. Sarah’s colors are just so unique and lovely. I bought the two red and green skeins above for a Christmas project….but now I’m thinking about socks! I want all the Christmas socks! Be sure to look for Sarah’s yarn in the future!
