Paris in Berlin
This year, I’m on a Joji Locatelli kick. After knitting her Blurry Cowl not once, but three times, I turned to another cowl she designed for some gift knitting. Joji’s Paris in Berlin Cowl is a lot like her Blurry Cowl; it looks like a bandana but is actually a cowl. I think these are lovely cowls and perfect gifts! So when I needed another gift – and I wanted it to be a quick knit – I turned to this design.
The Yarn
For several reasons, this cowl needed to be in the purple family. I turned to my stash and found some Malabrigo that I’d bought in California several years ago. It’s a lovely yarn, but I was fine using it for a gift. Plus….I’m running low on purple yarn! Oh, no!
The Pattern
This pattern was a lot of fun to knit. There was just enough pattern work to keep your brain engaged and your fingers happy. But it was also perfect for evening, television knitting when your brain is fried from a long day.
Details
Pattern: Paris in Berlin Cowl by Joji Locatelli
Yarn: Malabrigo Yarn Mechita
Colorway: Musas
Needles: US 6 (4.0 mm)
Made for: a former co-worker
Time to Completion: 2 weeks
As you can tell, this was a super fast knit! And I really enjoyed knitting it!
My only complaint is that this yarn is not the stretch-iest, probably because it’s 100% Wool. But the color is gorgeous and was just variegated enough to keep this cowl interesting.
If you need some quick gift knitting, I definitely recommend Paris in Berlin!
