Polka Dot Creek
As you know, I’m always excited to talk about yarn dyers! So today I’m focusing on Canadian dyer Polka Dot Creek. I started following Shelley, the dyer behind this brand, years ago and kept finding more and more to love about her colorways. And let me tell you, Shelley is extremely talented. She offers variegated yarn as well as self-striping colorways – and all of them are amazing!
Let me tell you more!
Bases
Polka Dot Creek yarn is dyed on several bases, including…
Classic Sock (Fingering – 75/25)
Sparkle Sock (Fingering – 75% Merino/20% Nylon/5% Stellina)
Classic DK (75/25)
Classic Worsted (100% Merino Wool)
Mohair (Lace – 72% Mohair/28% Silk)
Availability
There is always yarn available on the Polka Dot Creek website. It’s always too tempting to browse because I know I’ll find something I want! Be sure to follow Shelley on Instagram to see what she’s dyeing up; some yarns go fast once they’re listed on the website.
Ease of Shopping
The Polka Dot Creek website is very easy to use. Shelley has yarns grouped by theme on the front page – Christmas, Halloween… And there are Christmas Countdown Calendars listed! There are also Cross Stitch patterns and supplies for sale!
Shipping
Shipping to the United States is not cheap. But it’s worth it, once in a while, because Shelley’s yarns are just too hard to pass up.
Conclusion
I will always be on the lookout to see what this dyer is doing. There is just too much to love about Polka Dot Creek!
