Republic of Wool
Today I’m excited to share with you an indie dyer whose colors always bring me immense joy. When I take note of what catches my eye on Instagram, I’ve realized that this dyer consistently makes me pause and/or gasp while scrolling through my feed. Republic of Wool yarn is dyed in small batches by Michele in Portland, Orgon and I know you’ll find something to love from this dyer.
Let me tell you more…
Bases
Republic of Wool offers a few mighty bases, including…
Flossy Fingering (Light Fingering – 75/25)
Twist Fingering (80/20)
Plush Fingering (75/25)
DK Superwash DK (100% SW Merino)
Handspun in a variety of fiber/weights
Availability
Since Republic of Wool is a one-woman operation, updates and availability are limited. However, I’ve almost always found yarn listed on the website. Be sure to follow Michele on social media to see what she’s dyeing and when she’ll have shop updates. And if you want even more information, sign up to receive her newsletters.
Michele has had a monthly sock club in the past but I’m not sure when or if that will be offered again.
Ease of Shopping
The Republic of Wool website is super easy to use and navigate.
Shipping
Shipping rates in the United States are very reasonable.
Conclusion
I cannot wait to knit with my yarn that Michele dyed. I’ve wound it up and I’m ready to make socks! Republic of Wool is one of those dyers that makes such unique colorways…and they bring me such joy to see, feel, and knit with. Be sure to be on the lookout for what Michele dyes up next!
