Sundara Yarn

For several years now, I’ve received Sundara Yarn’s Daily Dreams email.  Sundara is a unique dyer because she dyes small batches of variegated and semi-solid yarn that are first available to her email subscribers.

To have daily yarn in your inbox is such a treat – and a temptation.

Bases

Sundara dyes her yarn on a variety of bases.  Some of her recent bases include Super Sock (85/15), Fingering Merino Cashmere, Fingering Silky Merino, Fingering Merino, Extra Fine Aran, Aran Merino, DK Merino, Sport Merino Two, and DK Silky Cashmere.  Though not as popular, I’ve also seen listings for chunky weight yarn, DK Angora, and Sport Silk.

Colorways

Daily Dreams is always inspired by artwork or photography.  Sundara sends you a picture that inspires her and the yarn she dyes from that inspiration.  Some of the pictures are gorgeous – and Sundara’s colors are just as incredible.

Sundara Yarn

Sundara’s yarn is mostly variegated or solid.

I don’t know if Sundara takes custom orders but I do know that she will sometimes dye a yarn based on pictures her subscribers send her.  How neat is that?!

Availability

Sundara dyes her yarn in very small batches.  So, after you get the Daily Dreams email, you’d best buy the yarn right away, before it sells out.  And buy enough for the project you’re making – it’s rare that colorways are repeated.

You can always browse the website to see what is is left in stock – and to be inspired by the beautiful colors!

Ease of Shopping

Sundara’s website is super easy to use – but her emails are where you’ll get the best selection.  Sign up here to get a daily dose of yarn in your inbox.

Shipping Costs

Sundara’s shipping rates are very reasonable.  And, she’ll even hold your yarn for a bit if you anticipate buying more from her in the near future.  That way, she can ship it all together to save you money. This is great if you find yourself easily tempted by her incredible colors.

Conclusion

Sundara dyes beautiful colors and her yarn is so squishy and gorgeous.  I’ve knit with her Fingering Merino, Aran Merino, and Sport Merino Two. They’ve all been great to work with and the colors are just amazing.  If you have any questions, Sundara is quick to answer them via email.  There’s also a Ravelry group that chats about her yarn – and where you can ask if anyone has colorways that have piqued your interest but you missed out on.

I highly recommend that you subscribe to her email list.
