WIPs – February 2020
January and February have flown by and now we’re about to go on vacation! Whew! I’m ready for a break from work and traffic but I’ll definitely miss my knitting! There are so many WIPs on the needles – and I love them all! I may try to sneak one into my carry-on for some plane knitting. We’ll see if I have room!
Here’s what I’m working on….
Allie Shawl (above)
I’ve been knitting on this shawl every night, trying to get it done before vacation. I’m knitting this as a KAL with my friend. And I’m loving it! The yarn from Three Irish Girls is so beautiful. The light pink colorway, My Cherie Amour, is my favorite – and so lovely!! I’ll be able to wear this with so many outfits!
The Allie pattern is so easy; it’s perfect for TV knitting! This shawl has really knit up quite quickly. I’m so close to being done – only 2 more stripes to go!
Arya Shawl
This shawl has been put on hold while I work on the Allie Shawl. And I’m missing the fun speckled-y colors! If I have room, this is the project I may have to take on the plane. It’s still small and the DK weight yarn will be easier to knit with while traveling.
Vanilla Socks
I thought I would make some progress on these while I visited my parents at the start of February. But I made a stupid mistake that cost me a lot of time.
I picked these up and started knitting on the foot without first having done a gusset. Um… Yeah. Where was my brain?! My only excuse is that I started back on these late one night after a glass of wine.
After finally figuring out my mistake, I spent the next day ripping out what I’d done. I finished the gusset but that’s it.
Find Your Fade
This project got some love earlier this month during my lunch breaks. I added in the second-to-last color. Yay! Par Avion, from October House Fiber Arts, is a gloriously speckled colorway of teals and pinks on a white base. I love it! I’m hoping I can finish up this shawl in 2-3 months. Fingers crossed!
Conclusion
Though I still only have on FO for 2020, I think I’ll finish a lot of projects in the next few months. Shawls take time but they’re so lovely once done! And when I finish with these, I’ll be ready for more socks. All the socks!
