WIPs – May 2021

May has been an extremely hectic – and exciting – month.  I’ll tell you more about that, later.  In the midst of it all, my knitting continued and I’ve made some good progress on a number of projects.  I’m loving all the projects….and they are always such a comfort to me!

Altitude Socks

After finishing my Have Wool We Will Travel Socks, I wanted to cast on a more complicated sock pattern.  I turned to Helen Stewart’s Sock Society and remembered that I had the yarn she used for her Altitude Socks.  I found a mini skein online that coordinated (only a small yarn purchase) and cast on!  Now, I’m almost to the toe of these socks.

Scrappy Socks

I took my Scrappy Socks to work and have knit on them during lunches. I’m knitting these out of scraps from my Slipstravaganza.   They’re coming along nicely and I’m loving the stripes.

Battenberg Blanket

My crochet square knitting has slowed a bit but is still progressing.  These are fun little distractions when I only have 10 minutes to do a bit of crafting between other projects.

Candy Cane Lane Advent Shawl

I cast this on at the end of April, after I finished my Habitation Throw.  And it is so much fun!  Though I’m using my Woolberry Advent, all the little mini skeins are not being completely used up, leaving scraps for my Battenberg squares.  So cool!

Powder and Dust Shawl

This shawl is coming along…  The third color is now in the mix, which is a lot of fun.

What’s Next

After my Altitude Socks are done, I’m going to cast on my third and final Blurry Cowl.  And this one will be for me!  I want to get that done and then start on some more gift knitting!  It’s never to early to think about Christmas gifts!
