WIPs – September 2019
September has been another busy month but not nearly as bad as August, on the whole. My knitting time has been a bit more plentiful but with our vacation next week, I’ve felt behind since the month started. It’s getting harder to stay on my one-project-a-month goal! But, here are my September WIPs….
Samphire Socks
Helen Stewart’s Sock Society pattern was such a fun knit! I really enjoyed these socks, which I turned into shorties. And the yarn – oh, my! I loved my first knitting experience with Woolen Boon!
I finished these socks on September 1st! So, I officially have an FO for August – in September! Yay! Look for a post about these soon!
Mischa Baby Dress
My September project is a baby dress (above) for a coworker who is pregnant with her first child. She and I grew up in the same small, east Texas town, so I feel the need to make something special for her.
I’m using a French yarn for this project which I’m really enjoying …except several knots have formed in my wound skein. Talk about frustrating! I had to do the unthinkable and break my yarn to start with a new section of untangled yarn. Sigh!
But this project is coming along. I made a few mistakes in the lace portion at the top but I’m hoping they’re not noticeable. I tried to fix them and it just didn’t work. So, fingers crossed!
Find Your Fade
My fade is forming, slowly but surely. I’m almost to the lace section of the third (technically fourth) skein. I haven’t had a ton of time to knit at work but I bring this project out at every free lunch I have.
What’s Next
I owe my knitting friend a KAL so I think we’re going to start a project together. We have sets for Joji Locatelli’s 3 Color Cashmere Cowl, which looks like it’d be super fun to knit. And I’ve been wanting to knit something of Joji’s for quite some time. So that may be perfect.
We’ll see. In the meantime, happy knitting!
